Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation
Charity Care
 Charity Care…

For over thirty years Tidelands Community Hospice has provided hospice care to all who are in need, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2017, the number of patients cared for translated to over 19,520 days of hospice care with over 494 of those days as charity care. Funds from the Foundation assist in providing hospice care, medicine, medical supplies and equipment to all patients who are in need.
Patient Partners
Patient Partners…

It is important at the end of life that no person should be without the smallest of life’s necessities. Patient Partners, if needed, assists with meeting the daily needs of patients and families and providing comfort care items.

Daily essentials can include paying utility bills, telephone bill, rent, purchasing a phone card, providing food and nutritional supplements, clothing and personal care items. Comfort care items range from wigs, safety shower bar, a radio to listen to music, a haircut or books to baby monitors to assist caregivers.

Special Programs
Special Programs…

Patients’ needs at the end of life can vary and go beyond the daily essentials. The Foundation works with Tidelands Community Hospice care team to assist in those situations.
As varied as our patients and families, those needs have included paying transportation for a family member to come be a caregiver, purchasing a Halloween costume for a patient’s child, providing additional care for a young mother with breast cancer, furnishing clothing for family members to wear to a loved ones funeral to assisting with payment of the funeral or cremation.
