Tidelands Hospice Community Events

Providing hospice care to all includes caring for those who are not eligible for Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. Thus far in 2023, patients in need of hospice care, medicines, medical supplies and equipment, who have no pay source has increased. Thanks to donations to Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation and the support of a caring community, funds from the Foundation ensure that no one in need of hospice care is turned away.

ABOUT EACH WORKSHOP

Each Bereavement Workshop is an eight-part, educationally oriented workshop, led by Rick Yant, Tidelands Community Hospice Bereavement Coordinator. The workshop provides a person suffering grief from the death of a loved one a better understanding of why their grief is so difficult and how to get through it. It integrates grief education with an opportunity to share with others who are experiencing similar loss. The workshop is also for the non-bereaved wishing to gain a better understanding of grief. Topics covered include the following:

  • Session One: Crazy Is Normal
  • Session Two: Understanding the Stages of Grief
  • Session Three: Surviving Stress and Loneliness
  • Session Four: Our Feelings of Denial, Bargaining, and Guilt
  • Session Five: Our Feelings of Anger and Depression
  • Session Six: Spiritual Elements of Grief and Healing
  • Session Seven: The Value of Memories
  • Session Eight: Review and Discussion

2023 Festival of Trees

Many thanks to sponsors, businesses, star lighters, tree decorators, tree bidders, and attendees for making 2023 Festival of Trees Celebration possible and a success with over $18,000 raised. The Festival of Trees Celebrations, held annually at the Pawleys Island Hammock Shops, raises funds to benefit Tidelands Community Hospice patients, families, and bereavement programs.

Services of Remembrance - December 2023
Services of Remembrance, part of Tidelands Community Hospice Bereavement Services and Programs, are held annually to celebrate, reflect, and honor the lives of loved ones who have touched our lives and are no longer with us. In December 2023, Services of Remembrance were held at Prince George Church and Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church. Services of Remembrance, like our Bereavement Programs, are open, at no charge, to all in our community who are grieving.
